OCAT® – OC (Pepper Spray) Aerosol Course

OCAT® – OC (Pepper Spray) Aerosol Course teaches the student drawing techniques, delivery methods and to appreciate the effects of OC on subjects. Training also includes updates in delivery systems, post-treatment care, new manufacturer units, advanced riot control systems and more.  The OCAT® program is not brand specific and addresses the proper use of all OC (Pepper Spray) products. Certification is “backed in court” and valid for a period of three years.

Upon completion of the OCAT® Course participants will be issued a Certificate of Completion and a Wallet I.D. card which will be valid for (3) Three years. Certificates and ID cards can only be issued to law enforcement, military, security officers, bail enforcement agents or other qualified personnel.

MOAB® for public safety officers

MOAB® for Public Safety Officers is designed for law enforcement, correctional and security personnel. MOAB® for public safety officers is a comprehensive program that teaches officers the principles, skills and techniques needed to recognize, reduce and manage violent and aggressive behaviour.

This 4-hour Basic certification course combines lecture with individual and team-building exercises related to situations encountered by officers on a daily basis, from talking to civilians, interview of a crime victim to the violent aggressor. G Course Requalification

Armed security guards and private investigators that possess a Class G license can only carry the firearm they qualified with at the Florida G course. For Example- A security officer that only qualified with a revolver cannot carry a semi-automatic while on duty.

Students that pass the final exam and range qualification will be given a certificate of completion to provide to the Division of Licensing when they renew the Class “G” Statewide Firearms license.

Statewide Firearms License Renewal

The Division of Licensing requires that all armed security officers and armed private Investigators re-qualify once per year with the type of handgun that they carry on duty.  Invictus provides annual “G” re-qual. Failure to complete the annual 4-hour G recert will disqualify students for renewal of their Statewide Firearms license, and students will be required by the State of Florida to complete the entire 28Hr G course.

Firearms and Equipment

Florida G License Requirements

To work armed security guard jobs in Florida, you must possess a D security license or be a Florida licensed private investigator.  The Florida G license is the required gun permit to work armed security.  It is illegal to carry a firearm in Florida while working as a:

• Security Guard
• Security Driver
• Bodyguard
• Executive Protection
• Private Investigator

You cannot work any security jobs with a concealed carry license. You can carry concealed working armed security with your Class “D” License along with a Class “G” Statewide Firearms License on temporarily assigned duties. Security Guards can obtain a Class G license in Florida if under 21 but cannot carry weapons concealed. The CCW is for personal gun carry and you are limited to where you can have a gun. The  Armed Security License is not the same as a Concealed Permit and is under different Florida gun laws.

SECURITY LICENSE IN ORLANDO

To work as a security guard in Florida, security officers must complete the security license class in Orlando. The class D security license is the required security guard course you must complete to apply for Orlando security jobs. To apply for a security guard job, the individual must already have the security D license issued. The course reviews will help security officers prepare for the Basic, Advanced and Supervisor IAHSS certification test. Reviews will be held in 7 Regions throughout the State of Florida.

To qualify for the courses the student must be employed or preparing to be employed by a licensed AHCA Hospital. All course dates are listed on our training calendar and students must be registered 2 weeks prior to review dates.

To register students must have approval from their Healthcare Director of security and complete the Invictus IAHSS registration form. Courses are limited to space eligibility and each Healthcare Facility/Hospital will be limited to a couple of seats per course.
