FLORIDA STATEWIDE FIREARMS- CLASS G LICENSE
To work as an armed security officer in the State of Florida students are required to complete the Florida Statewide Firearms Course. The G license is the required firearms licensing course you must complete to work as an armed security guard. To apply for armed security jobs, you must already have the Florida security D license. Invictus firearms school offers the security class G license in South Florida covering Palm Beach County, Martin County, Port St Lucie County, Orlando, Miami, and Broward County. The Florida class G security license requires 28 Hours of classroom training by a licensed firearms instructor (K) at a licensed firearms school.
Invictus firearms academy offers the Florida class G license as three, 8 –10 hour days of classroom and range instruction. The 28 hour Statewide Firearms class includes all weapons license requirements and security guard course curriculum mandated by the State of Florida Division of Licensing.

G License renewal is 2 years and G Licensees must qualify once a year to maintain the G license.
Under Florida Laws any security officer armed and Florida licensed private investigator that is issued a Florida class G license can only carry a .380 or 9mm Semi-Automatic pistol, .38 or .357 caliber revolver while working in an armed capacity.
Invictus firearms class provides the following equipment for our students: duty belts, magazines and speed loader pouches, firearms for classroom training, training aides, ear and eye protection and targets. (Invictus provides gun rentals for $10, students must provide 150 rounds of ammunition for State Qualification)

Qualification
Armed security officers and private investigators that posses a class G license can only carry the firearm they qualified with during range day of G course.
Example- A security officer that only qualified with a revolver cannot carry a semi-automatic while on duty.
Invictus school offers students the ability to qualify with both weapons systems. Students MUST show the capability of qualifying with both weapon systems during firearms classroom training and time permitted. Invictus charges a $75 fee to qualify with 2 weapons systems.
Students that pass the final exam and range qualification will be given a certificate of completion to provide to the state when they apply for the Class "G" Statewide Firearms license and will also receive a certificate of completion for the concealed weapon or firearm license (CCW Permit).

If you are bringing a handgun to G course, the weapon should be brought to the classroom unloaded and encased. All student weapons will be subjected to a safety inspection prior to live fire.
Note: According to the State of Florida, applicants for the Florida armed security license must be at least 18 years of age to work armed security and 21 years of age to carry concealed. Have no disqualifying criminal history, mental health and be legally allowed to work in the United States.

4 HOUR CLASS “G” RECERTIFICATION
The State of Florida requires that all G security officers and armed private Investigators re-qualify at least once per year with the type of handgun that they carry on duty. Invictus provides annual Class "G" 4 hr re-qualification. Failure to complete the annual 4-hour G recert will disqualify students for G license renewal, and students will be required by the State of Florida to complete the entire 28-hour G course.
