To work Armed Security Services in the State of Florida, you must possess a Security D License or be a Licensed Private Investigator.  The G License is the required gun license to work an armed position.  It is illegal to carry a firearm in Florida while working as a Security Officer, Security Driver, Executive Protection, Bodyguard, Private Investigator or any jobs in security with a concealed weapons/concealed carry license. You can carry concealed working armed guard security with your Security Class “D” License along with a Class “G” Firearms License on temporary assigned duties. Security Officers can obtain a Class G License if under 21 but cannot carry weapons concealed. The concealed is for personal gun carry and you are limited to where you can have a firearm. The Security Armed License is not the same as a Concealed Permit and is under different Florida gun laws.
