To work an armed security guard in Florida you are required to complete the armed G license course. The Florida Statewide Firearms License is the required firearms training class you must complete to work armed security. To apply for West Palm Beach armed security jobs, you must already have the D security license in Florida. Invictus West Palm Beach firearms school offers a full range of security guard training. The Florida armed security G license requires 28 Hrs of class room training by a licensed class K firearms instructor at a licensed security school. Invictus firearms school offers the Class G license in West Palm Beach as three, 8-10 hour days of classroom & range instruction. The 28 hour Statewide Firearms license class includes all weapons license requirements mandated by the State of Florida Division of Licensing.

The G License in Florida renewal is 2 years and class G licensees must qualify once a year to maintain the Statewide Firearms license. Under Florida Laws 493 any armed security officer and Florida licensed private investigator that is issued a Class G firearms license can only carry a .380 or 9mm Semi-Auto pistol, .38 or .357 caliber revolver while working security jobs armed.
Invictus firearms school provides the following equipment for our students: gun belts, magazines and speed loader pouches, pistols and or revolvers for classroom training, training aides, targets, ear & eye protection. (Invictus provides gun rentals for $10, students must provide 150 rounds of ammunition for G course Qualification)

Armed security guards and private investigators that posses the G license can only carry the firearm they qualified with during the G course.
Example- A security guard that qualified with a revolver cannot carry a semi-automatic while on armed duty.
Students that pass the final exam & range qualification will be given a certificate of completion to provide to the Division of Licensing when they apply for the "G" Statewide Firearms license and will also receive a certificate of completion for the concealed weapon license (CCW Permit).

If you are bringing a handgun to Statewide Firearms course, the weapon should be brought to the classroom unloaded and encased. All student weapons will be subjected to a safety inspection prior to live fire.
Note: According to the State of Florida, applicants for the Florida armed security license must be at least 18 years of age to work armed security and 21 years of age to carry concealed. Have no disqualifying criminal history, mental health and be legally allowed to work in the United States.

The State of Florida requires that all armed security officers and armed private Investigators must re-qualify once per year with the type of handgun that they carry on duty. Our firearms school in West Palm Beach provides the annual "G" re-qualification . Failure to complete the annual 4-hr G recertification will disqualify students for the class G license renewal, and students will be required by the State of Florida to complete the entire G 28-hour course.

You can carry concealed working armed security with your Security License along with a Class “G” Firearms License on temporary assigned duties. Security Officers can obtain a Class G license if under 21 but cannot carry weapons concealed. The concealed license CCW is for personal gun carry and you are limited to where you can have a firearm. The Security Armed License is not the same as a Concealed Carry and is under different Florida gun laws.
